ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Engineering is the application of scientific and mathematical principles to develop economical solutions to technical problems, creating products, facilities, and structures that are useful to people. Engineers use imagination, judgment, and reasoning to apply science, technology, mathematics, and practical experience. The result is the design, production, and operation of useful objects or processes.Electronic engineering is a professional discipline that deals with the behavior and effects of electrons (as in electron tubes and transistors) and with electronic devices, systems, or equipment.
MY College
Government Engineering College (GEC), Thrissur, is one of the premier engineering institutes in the country. It was founded in 1958, the foundation stone being laid by Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru making it one of the oldest engineering college in Kerala. GEC has been rated consistently among the top technical institutes in South India, with students being admitted purely on the basis of merit.
Situated just 4km from Thrissur town, the cultural capital of Kerala. The campus is spread over an expansive 120 acres of lush greenery providing the perfect ambience for the pursuit of knowledge. The college from its inception has now grown from an initial intake of 120 students in three departments to one of the largest colleges in Kerala, having an intake of nearly 600 students in nine branches. The college also has the distinction of offering the most number of courses in Kerala.
GEC Thrissur was set up to provide a world class programme, bridging the gaps in technical education and developing competencies in the frontier areas of engineering studies. The institute also promises that its curriculum aims to create a technically sound student with multiple skills.
